Pretty neato! Was a short but fun experience, perhaps maybe something that could be added if you did a future game, was a sort of progress bar in the menu area that shows your move choices, other than that, pretty solid!

This is a pretty awesome game, I love how fun the mechanic is, i was skeptical at first, but after playing a while it's dope, I too ran into the issue of the black screen of death, however, I'm sure that's something that can be fixed in the future, but as a game itself outside of that, I definitely recommend this game!

I think it's a fun little concept,
I think if I were to improve upon a few things they would be these:
1. Collisions, the current ones are extremely...imprecise and that makes it a bit frustrating to judge stuff
2. I think the actual growing of the square could be centered, this way, there's a better perspective on how you're growing, rather than growing towards one side
3. I think the art could honestly be more simple, just black/white, with simple outlines for things, and that would really make the game pop more visually

Otherwise, a great proof of concept for a beginner game, keep it up!

noodlstudios responds:

Thanks for your feedback. Despite the art being simple, I tried to go for a tropical vibe, but maybe outlines would make it look nicer.

I think that this is....odd...to say the least, I think that the color of the pixel is too dull, cause I couldn't even see the pixel to begin with when the game started, and there's no queues for when the previous iteration is done (leading to un-intended presses/lack of presses that end the game), I think maybe having it change back to grey, or flip to white would help differentiate when a sequence is done (if there even is one? I cant tell)

ARLTB responds:

Thanks. Maybe the pixel is too small. You can try zooming in by tapping the up arrow

It's definately an interesting concept, I think perhaps there should be some sort of mechanic outside of being pushed by the blocks though, as right now the controls seem to lock when performing multiple actions.

Other than that, it's a pretty interesting concept! Always appreciate seeing Godot projects on here!

I'd like to give you the benefit of the doubt here and say you might have broken something upon exporting, as there seems to be no "Game" outside of just some things dropping and a camera panning, so perhaps look into that

What it lacks in visuals, I think mechanically it's a pretty good setup as a prototype, I think if you were to take some time and refine how it works both functionally and visually, this could actually be pretty fun as an arcade style game!
I think perhaps one change I would make is to incorporate the large text intro scene into the actual game in some form, perhaps make it so another character is talking to you, so that it makes the world feel a bit more fleshed out, otherwise, it really just needs some refinement!

Im unsure if these assets are original, but I highly recommend crediting the people who made the music/background art/ect
Second, I recommend that you fix the hat layer, as it's behind the character's head currently, and doesn't function properly
Other than that, It seems pretty solid in terms of a creation system, maybe put a tad bit more effort into it though

DumbyBoii responds:

I have taken note of your reply.i forgot to say that this is in beta.and yes I made those assets in flipaclip.

First, game wouldn't even load properly for me, so I have a feeling that this is a re-upload of the original game, second, don't use assets and stuff without permission, that's just kinda distasteful

It definitely could use some work, I think the biggest thing that should be worked on is probably coherency of the art itself, as currently, it feels rather disjointed between clashing art styles, Otherwise, I think the game itself handles pretty well, I think maybe a tutorial helping explain the controls inside the game itself would be nice. Otherwise, I wish you the best on your project!

ochiogrande responds:

Thank you for your , comment is very helpfull. Il do some more work on grafix, and try to put more life in it.

I do what I do
because I enjoy what I do.

If I don't know how to do it,
I'll learn how to do it.

Money is a goal, not an incentive.

I like cats, perhaps too much.
Oh yeah, also, I only do SFW things, cause I'm a boring nerd.
