highly recommend removing the PS1 starting noise as it's copyrighted - Other than that, It's pretty neat, I think perhaps make the jumping much less linear, as it was near impossible to make most jumps

I didn't know it was copyrighted but I removed it in the final version
Hella fun, music is fire, simple to learn, good zone out game, once you get into a groove, it's genuinely enjoyable
I'm glad you enjoyed playing it!
Pretty neat game, could use a bit of polish to it, but otherwise pretty solid mechanically
Thanks for comment! I'll try to improve it's flaws in the next one
It's pretty neat, I think the bullets should move a tad slower, as currently most of the time I'm dying from being able to not see them cause they being bouncing too fast or maybe some trail so you can follow better
Maybe i try to make bullets slower, but if i see that it ruins the gameplay (in my opinion obviously) maybe i just add a trail.
Ty for sharing your opinion <3
Pretty nice, love the art work, my only issues are 2 things, first, it's a pain to predict where the bombs will go, so perhaps making an arc visualization would help, second, I think making it a bit more obvious what bomb you're on would help alot, maybe in the corner or something have a little card to show what bomb type you're on, I understand part of the challenge is keeping track of that, but it's kinda hard to see the bombs amongst the pixels of the pirate themself, otherwise, pretty awesome work!
Thanks a lot for your review! The bomb type is also displayed in the cursor by the way, I might think about adding the arc but it gets difficult since the bombs also keeps your momentum(other than the accelleration of the throw), so it might go all over the place when you fall/jump and it can get distracting
It's fun...? I guess? I don't know if I'm just doing something wrong or not, but I cant even last 10 seconds cause the hitboxes seem kinda jank and I keep getting hit from like 4 pixels away, but it looks neat either way
Fixed up the collision detection, should be easier to play now
Pretty good game, couldn't get past level 4, I think that this game is pretty well polished and good in concept, however, the thing I find extremely irritating about it is how inconsistent the collisions themselves are, occasionally I won't be near the "fellow man" and I'll still bounce off them while falling, or there will be half a pixel of a spike touching me and it'll kill me, perhaps adding more buffer would make it more enjoyable, I'm also personally not a fan of floaty jumping, but it works pretty well in this, and adds a lot of difficulty
Thanks for the feedback, will definitely take it into account and will make some frustrating parts less frustrating.
I think it's a fun little concept,
I think if I were to improve upon a few things they would be these:
1. Collisions, the current ones are extremely...imprecise and that makes it a bit frustrating to judge stuff
2. I think the actual growing of the square could be centered, this way, there's a better perspective on how you're growing, rather than growing towards one side
3. I think the art could honestly be more simple, just black/white, with simple outlines for things, and that would really make the game pop more visually
Otherwise, a great proof of concept for a beginner game, keep it up!
Thanks for your feedback. Despite the art being simple, I tried to go for a tropical vibe, but maybe outlines would make it look nicer.

If I don't know how to do it,
I'll learn how to do it. Money is a goal, not an incentive. I like cats, perhaps too much.
Oh yeah, also, I only do SFW things, cause I'm a boring nerd.
